Since 2012, 44309//GALLERY (former 44309 STREET//ART GALLERY) curates and produces mural projects in Dortmund. The first mural in Dortmund, together with the Italian artist Alice Pasquini. It followed by a land mark project with Spanish artist BELIN, who left a photo realistic large portrait painting of his son Bruno .

Over the past years, many other projects have been followed and the PUBLIC//ART SPACE  is growing continuously. The team realizes about 2-4 project each year together with different partners.

But doing something for public, things needed to become more institutional, so 44309 PUBLIC//ART SPACE was founded in 2017 as a non-profit business. With that stap, the initiative to establish a public art space museum in the area of ​​Dortmund City, was legally separated from the gallery business of 44309//GALLERY.
